Prayer for Mental Health

Gracious God, we pray for all people who suffer silently with deep sadness. Who wash their hands until they crack and bleed. Who don't understand colloquialisms. Who dislike and starve their bodies. Who will do almost anything to be the center of attention. Who grunt and swear no matter where they go. Who miss doing fun things out of a fear of getting judged by others. Who get anxious and upset when they can't drink alcohol. Who get in trouble for not paying enough attention. Who will only talk to a few people in their lives. And so many others. Help those who live with psychological challenges to find greater healing and joy. Help those who are psychologically privileged to find greater empathy and understanding. And help us all to appreciate the fact that sometimes abnormal is normal. Amen.
